As an experienced Kauai wedding officiant, I specialize in creating personalized wedding ceremonies that reflect your unique love story, values, and vision for your special day. My goal is to make your Kauai wedding ceremony meaningful, stress-free, and memorable.
My most requested ceremony is the Hawaiian Spiritual Wedding Ceremony, which begins with the blowing of the conch shell and a traditional lei exchange. Inspired by nature, the spirit of Aloha, and the beauty of Hawaiʻi, this ceremony offers a heartfelt way to honor your commitment while creating a deeper connection to the islands.
Having lived on Kauaʻi for more than 30 years, I bring a deep respect for Hawaiian culture, traditions, and local customs to every ceremony. My work is further enriched by 15 years as a professional wedding planner and more than 30 years as a yoga and meditation teacher. This unique combination allows me to create ceremonies that are both grounded and deeply meaningful.
Whether you are seeking a Hawaiian wedding ceremony, a Christian ceremony, a non-denominational wedding, a spiritual ceremony, or a simple and intimate elopement on Kauai, I will work closely with you to design a ceremony that feels authentic and personal.

How long is your ceremony:
My primary Spiritual Hawaiian ceremony is nature based and lasts 15-20 minutes, depending if the couple shares personal vows. Please know, I am more than happy to customize the ceremony and can be very flexible in my approach to suit the couple best. I'm a minister that is comfortable with all faiths.
How do I get married in Hawaii?
I will guide you in the simple process which includes three steps: Apply for the license online (link will be provided), procure the license from an agent (a list of agents will be given), and get married by a licensed marriage performer like myself. I will then register your marriage with the state of Hawaii.
Do we need to be Hawaii residents or US citizens to get married in Hawaii?
No, anyone can get married in Hawaii regardless of residency or citizenship. You just need a valid government-issued ID. This is one of the reasons Hawaii is such a popular destination for couples from around the world.
Is a marriage in Hawaii valid for other states?
Yes! Hawaii is a part of the United States and marriages here are legal in all other states and territories.
Is a marriage in Hawaii valid in other countries?
Yes, but you will need to check with authorities in your country to find out if you need to register your marriage there as well. Some countries require an Apostille, along with your certified marriage certificate. Your license agent will give you information on how to obtain this.
Can I change my name when getting married in Hawaii?

How do I change my name after I get married?
If you choose to change your name as a part of getting married in Hawaii, your certified marriage certificate will be needed as proof of the name change.
Is rain on your wedding day in Hawaii really good luck?
Yes! It is a real thing, and it is also recognized in many other cultures. Rain is seen as a sign of growth, abundance, and fertility!
What do we do if it’s raining on our wedding day in Hawaii?
We are a chain of tropical islands and rain is not always predictable. Often it’s just a passing shower that can be waited out. I do my best to be flexible to accommodate unforeseen circumstances. In the case of rain that doesn’t look like it will stop soon, we discuss options with any other vendors involved. If there is a wedding planner they take the lead. Sometimes it’s possible to drive to a location that’s not raining.
Some couples just go for it and get married in the rain, which is very romantic and can make for incredible photos and memories!
What are some ways to give back during our visit?
Volunteering for local non-profits like Waipa Foundation is a great way to give back.
Private yoga is a great way to relax and rejuvenate while on Kauai. Partner yoga is also available and a great experience for couples!
